Episode 36 - Superstars - August 7th

On this week's 'Superstars':

The Fabulous Rougeau Bros. (Jacques & Raymond, with Jimmy Hart) defeated The Bushwhackers (Luke & Butch), when Jacques pinned Luke. The referee didn't notice that Luke had his foot on the bottom rope.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund presented his 'SummerSlam Report'. Okerlund interviewed The Can-Am Connection (Rick Martel & Tom Zenk) about their match against Demolition (Ax & Smash).

"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan defeated Rusty Brooks by disqualification, when The Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff, and Slick attacked Duggan, causing him to bleed.

There was an advert for the August issue of WWF Magazine.

Dino Bravo (with Jimmy Hart) pinned Tim Horner.

Sean Mooney in the Event Centre ran down this weekend's 'Saturday Night's Main Event' show. The card in full is:

Hulk Hogan & "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka v "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff, "Cowboy" Bob Orton & "Dr. D" David Schultz

WWF INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP:

(C) The Honky Tonk Man (with Jimmy Hart) v Koko B. Ware

"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan v The Iron Sheik (with Slick)

"Macho" Man Randy Savage (with Miss Elizabeth) v Dino Bravo (with Jimmy Hart)

B. Brian Blair v "Rowdy" Roddy Piper

The British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith & Dynamite Kid) v The Fabulous Rougeau Bros. (Jacques & Raymond, with Jimmy Hart)

Koko B. Ware pinned Dick Murdoch.

On stage, Craig DeGeorge interviewed WWF Intercontinental Champion, The Honky Tonk Man (with Jimmy Hart). HTM began listing reasons why he is the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time. "Macho Man" Randy Savage interrupted and challenged HTM to a match right now. HTM declined.

Backstage, "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviewed The Honky Tonk Man (with Jimmy Hart), who spoke about why he wouldn't wrestle "Macho Man" Randy Savage, and his Intercontinental Title defence against Koko B. Ware at 'Saturday Night's Main Event'.

The Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff (with Slick) were due to face George South & Italian Stallion, but the match never took place because a bloody "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan hit the ring during Volkoff's singing of the Soviet National Anthem, and chased Sheik, Volkoff, and Slick out of the ring with a 2x4 board.

WWF Champion, Hulk Hogan, and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper signed the contract for their WWF Championship Match at 'SummerSlam'.

There was an advert for 'SummerSlam'.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviewed The Killer Bees (B. Brian Blair & "Jumpin'" Jim Brunzell) about their non-title match on next weeks 'Superstars' against WWF Tag Team Champions, The Dream Team (Brutus Beefcake & Greg "The Hammer" Valentine), and about Blair's match against "Rowdy" Roddy Piper at 'Saturday Night's Main Event'.

"Cowboy" Bob Orton & "Dr. D" David Schultz (with "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff) defeated The Young Stallions (Paul Roma & Jim Powers), when Orton pinned Powers.
