Episode 39 - Superstars - August 14th

 

It's a little over a week until 'SummerSlam', and this week on 'Superstars':

"Macho Man" Randy Savage (with Miss Elizabeth) pinned Rusty Brooks.

 "Mean" Gene Okerlund presented his 'SummerSlam Report'. Three new matches were announced for the show:

Tito Santana & The Hart Foundation (Bret "Hitman" Hart & Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart) v  Dino Bravo & The Fabulous Rougeau Bros. (Jacques & Raymond)

"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan v Nikolai Volkoff

Ken Patera v "King" Harley Race

It was announced that "The Rock" Don Muraco will be in Ken Patera's corner. We heard from "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, The Hart Foundation (Bret "Hitman" Hart & Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart), Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, Ken Patera, and "The Rock" Don Muraco, about their respective matches.

"Macho Man" Randy Savage went backstage in search of WWF Intercontinental Champion, The Honky Tonk Man. He found Jimmy Hart and confronted him, telling him to tell The Honky Tonk Man to shut his mouth.

The Wild Samoans (Afa & Sika) defeated Barry Horowitz & Tim Horner, when Afa pinned Horowitz.

“Mean” Gene Okerlund interviewed The U.S. Express (Barry Windham & Mike Rotunda) about their ‘SummerSlam’ match against Big John Studd & King Kong Bundy.

Junkyard Dog pinned "Iron" Mike Sharpe.

Slick (with One Man Gang) spoke about Junkyard Dog and his 'SummerSlam' match with One Man Gang.

There was a special video feature on "Rowdy" Roddy Piper.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper spoke about WWF Champion, Hulk Hogan, ahead of their WWF Title match at 'SummerSlam'.

WWF Tag Team Champions, The Dream Team (Brutus Beefcake & Greg "The Hammer" Valentine, with Jimmy Hart) defeated The Killer Bees (B. Brian Blair & "Jumpin'" Jim Brunzell) in a non-title match, when Brunzell submitted to Valentine's Figure Four Leglock.

It was announced that next week The Young Stallions (Paul Roma & Jim Powers) will face Big John Studd & King Kong Bundy. We heard from The Stallions and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan (with Studd & Bundy) about the matchup.

Episode 38 - Wrestling Challenge - August 13th

 The Long Riders ("Outlaw" Ron Bass & Black Bart) defeated George South & Italian Stallion, when Bass pinned South.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund presented his 'SummerSlam Report'. Announced for the card are WWF Intercontinental Champion, The Honky Tonk Man, defending his Title against "Macho Man" Randy Savage, The U.S. Express (Barry Windham & Mike Rotunda) v Big John Studd & King Kong Bundy, and Junkyard Dog v One Man Gang. Ken Resnick interviewed Big John Studd & King Kong Bundy. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviewed Junkyard Dog. Craig DeGeorge interviewed "Macho Man" Randy Savage.

The Can-Am Connection (Rick Martel & Tom Zenk) defeated Brian Costello & Jim Merkle, when Zenk pinned Merkle.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviewed WWF Champion, Hulk Hogan, who spoke about "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, and "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff’s attack on "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka at 'Saturday Night's Main Event'.

One Man Gang (with Slick) pinned S.D. Jones.

 "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviewed Jimmy Hart and WWF Intercontinental Champion, The Honky Tonk Man, about HTM's upcoming Intercontinental Title defence against "Macho Man" Randy Savage at 'SummerSlam'.

Demolition (Ax & Smash, with Mr. Fuji) defeated The Bushwhackers (Luke & Butch), when Ax pinned Luke.

 "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff was "Rowdy" Roddy Piper's guest on 'Piper's Pit'. They gloated about, and replayed, Orndorff's attack on "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka at 'Saturday Night's Main Event'.

 "King" Harley Race (with Bobby "The Brain" Heenan) pinned Tim Horner.

 There was an advert for 'SummerSlam'.

 "Mean" Gene Okerlund moderated a debate between Ken Patera and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan. Heenan attempted to attack Patera with a belt, but Patera turned the tables, and Heenan was stretchered out.

 Next week - Ken Patera v "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff.

Episode 37 - Saturday Night's Main Event - August 10th

 


Results from 'Saturday Night's Main Event':
 
The British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith & Dynamite Kid) defeated The Fabulous Rougeau Bros. (Jacques & Raymond, with Jimmy Hart), when Dynamite Kid pinned Jacques.

“Mean” Gene Okerlund interviewed Hulk Hogan & “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka about their upcoming match.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper defeated B. Brian Blair by submission with a Sleeper Hold.

In a pre-taped segment, The Iron Sheik & Slick arrived at the building in a limo. Jesse “The Body" Ventura interviewed them about Sheik’s upcoming match with “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan.

in a Handicap Match, WWF Champion, Hulk Hogan & "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka beat "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff, "Cowboy" Bob Orton & "Dr. D" David Schultz, when Hogan pinned Orton. After the match, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper entered the ring and participated in a 4 on 2 assault. Orndorff gave Snuka a piledriver on the floor.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviewed Koko B. Ware ahead of his WWF Intercontinental Title shot at The Honky Tonk Man.

WWF Intercontinental Champion, The Honky Tonk Man (with Jimmy Hart), retained his title by pinning Koko B. Ware.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviewed "Rowdy" Roddy Piper about what he and his men did to Hulk Hogan and Jimmy Snuka.

“Hacksaw” Jim Duggan spoke about his upcoming match against The Iron Sheik.

“Macho Man” Randy Savage (with Miss Elizabeth) spoke about The Honky Tonk Man, and his upcoming match with Dino Bravo.

 "Macho Man" Randy Savage (with Miss Elizabeth) pinned Dino Bravo (with Jimmy Hart).

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviewed WWF Intercontinental Champion, The Honky Tonk Man, and Jimmy Hart, who spoke about "Macho Man" Randy Savage.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviewed a distraught WWF Champion, Hulk Hogan, about what happened earlier to him and "Superlfly" Jimmy Snuka. Hogan revealed that Snuka has been taken to hospital, and vowed to avenge him.

 "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan pinned The Iron Sheik (with Slick).

Episode 36 - Superstars - August 7th

 

On this week's 'Superstars':

The Fabulous Rougeau Bros. (Jacques & Raymond, with Jimmy Hart) defeated The Bushwhackers (Luke & Butch), when Jacques pinned Luke. The referee didn't notice that Luke had his foot on the bottom rope.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund presented his 'SummerSlam Report'. Okerlund interviewed The Can-Am Connection (Rick Martel & Tom Zenk) about their match against Demolition (Ax & Smash).

"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan defeated Rusty Brooks by disqualification, when The Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff, and Slick attacked Duggan, causing him to bleed.

There was an advert for the August issue of WWF Magazine.

Dino Bravo (with Jimmy Hart) pinned Tim Horner.

Sean Mooney in the Event Centre ran down this weekend's 'Saturday Night's Main Event' show. The card in full is:

On stage, Craig DeGeorge interviewed WWF Intercontinental Champion, The Honky Tonk Man (with Jimmy Hart). HTM began listing reasons why he is the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time. "Macho Man" Randy Savage interrupted and challenged HTM to a match right now. HTM declined.

Backstage, "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviewed The Honky Tonk Man (with Jimmy Hart), who spoke about why he wouldn't wrestle "Macho Man" Randy Savage, and his Intercontinental Title defence against Koko B. Ware at 'Saturday Night's Main Event'.

The Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff (with Slick) were due to face George South & Italian Stallion, but the match never took place because a bloody "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan hit the ring during Volkoff's singing of the Soviet National Anthem, and chased Sheik, Volkoff, and Slick out of the ring with a 2x4 board.

WWF Champion, Hulk Hogan, and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper signed the contract for their WWF Championship Match at 'SummerSlam'.

There was an advert for 'SummerSlam'.

 "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviewed The Killer Bees (B. Episode 35 - Wrestling Challenge - August 6th


On this week's 'Wrestling Challenge':

The Killer Bees (B. Brian Blair & "Jumpin'" Jim Brunzell) defeated The Long Riders ("Outlaw" Ron Bass & Black Bart), when Blair pinned Bart.

WWF Intercontinental Champion, The Honky Tonk Man premiered his new music video.

Matt Borne pinned George South.

In his 'SummerSlam Report', "Mean" Gene Okerlund announced The Can-Am Connection (Rick Martel & Tom Zenk) v Demolition (Ax & Smash) for the card. We heard from Demolition (Ax & Smash, with Mr. Fuji). Okerlund announced a WWF Intercontinental Title Match for 'Saturday Night's Main Event' this Saturday night - WWF Intercontinental Champion, The Honky Tonk Man, will defend against Koko B. Ware. Koko B. Ware spoke about the match.

"Macho Man" Randy Savage (with Miss Elizabeth) pinned a Local Talent. Towards the end of the match, The Honky Tonk Man (with Jimmy Hart & Peggy Sue) appeared onstage with Craig DeGeorge and goaded Savage.

There was an advert for the August issue of WWF Magazine.

Bobby "The Brain" Heenan addressed and accepted Ken Patera's challenge to a debate.

Ken Resnick interviewed The Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff, who spoke about "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan.

The U.S. Express (Barry Windham & Mike Rotunda) defeated The Brooklyn Brawler & Pete Doherty, when Rotunda pinned Brawler.

WWF Champion, Hulk Hogan, was the guest on "Rowdy" Roddy Piper's 'Piper's Pit'. Hogan challenged Piper to sign the contract for their WWF Title Match at 'SummerSlam'. Piper said his lawyers were drawing up a contract that suits him, and that he would sign it on tomorrow's 'Superstars'.
