Episode 168 - Wrestling Challenge - August 19th

 

This week on 'Wrestling Challenge':

Gorilla Monsoon & Bobby "The Brain" Heenan were on commentary.

"Cowboy" Bob Orton (with Mr. Fuji) pinned Reno Riggins.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviewed Jimmy Hart & The Honky Tonk Man, who spoke about Jake "The Snake" Roberts.

"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan pinned Tiger Chung Lee. During the match, it was announced Duggan will face One Man Gang at 'SummerSlam'. Slick (with One Man Gang) cut an inset promo, during the match.

There was a recap of King Kong Bundy's attack on Big John Studd, at 'Saturday Night's Main Event', last Saturday night.

"Outlaw" Ron Bass pinned Duane Gill.

There was a recap from last week's 'Superstars', of "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase (with Virgil), onstage with Craig DeGeorge, revealing a deal with Andre The Giant & Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, for Andre to be in DiBiase's corner at 'SummerSlam'.

Powers of Pain (Warlord & Barbarian) defeated Rusty Brooks & Terry Gibbs, when Warlord pinned Brooks. During the match, The New Dream Team (Greg "The Hammer" Valentine & Dino Bravo) & Jimmy Hart cut an inset promo, on the Powers of Pain.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund presented his 'SummerSlam Report'. WWF Champion, Hulk Hogan, reacted to Andre The Giant being in "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase's corner, and revealed that he will also have someone in is corner, who's identity will be revealed tomorrow, on 'Superstars'. The British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith & Dynamite Kid) spoke about WWF Tag Team Champions, Demolition (Ax & Smash). Big John Studd spoke about King Kong Bundy. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat v "Adorable" Adrian Adonis was announced for the show. Adonis spoke about Steamboat.

Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat pinned The Brooklyn Brawler.

Episode 167 - Saturday Night's Main Event - August 15th

 

Results from 'Saturday Night's Main Event', on NBC:

Vince McMahon & Jesse "The Body" Ventura were the commentary team.

"The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase (with Virgil) spoke about WWF Champion, Hulk Hogan.

  WWF Champion, Hulk Hogan spoke about "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase, Andre The Giant, and Virgil.

"Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff pinned Hercules (with Bobby "The Brain" Heenan).

There was a recap of Brutus "The Barber" Beefacke cutting up "Outlaw" Ron Bass's whip and hat, on last week's 'Superstars'.

Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake and "Outlaw" Ron Bass were both counted out of the ring. Bass viciously beat Beefcake throughout the match, and afterwards Bass choked and dragged Beefcake with his whip, then sliced Beefcake's head open with his spurs. Several wrestlers rushed the ring, making the save.

 "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviewed WWF Champion, Hulk Hogan, who addressed what "Outlaw" Ron Bass just did to his friend, Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake, and spoke about "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase, and Andre The Giant.

In a Non-Title Match, WWF Champion, Hulk Hogan pinned Virgil (with  "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase). During the match, Hogan assaulted DiBiase.

 There was an advert for 'SummerSlam', on pay-per-view, on Sunday, August 30th.

Big John Studd defeated "King" Harley Race (with Bobby "The Brain" Heenan & King Kong Bundy), by disqualification, after Bundy attacked Studd, and delivered three Avalanche Splashes.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviewed "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase (with Virgil & Andre The Giant), who spoke about WWF Champion, Hulk Hogan.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviewed King Kong Bundy, who spoke about Big John Studd.

The British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith & Dynamite Kid) defeated The Moondogs (Rex & Spot), when Dynamite Kid pinned Rex.

"Outlaw" Ron Bass pinned a Local Talent. After the match, Bass choked his opponent with his whip, Miss Betsy, and began to attack him with his spurs, but Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake made the save, and cut up Miss Betsy and Bass's hat.

In the 'Event Center', Sean Mooney detailed 'Saturday Night's Main Event', this Saturday night, on N.B.C. WWF Champion, Hulk Hogan, spoke about "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase & Virgil. The SNME card in full is:

The Young Stallions (Paul Roma & Jim Powers) defeated The Nightmares, when Roma pinned Nightmare #2.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund presented his 'SummerSlam Report'. WWF Intercontinental Champion, "Ravishing" Rick Rude (with Bobby "The Brain" Heenan) spoke about "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff. Big John Studd spoke about King Kong Bundy & Bobby "The Brain" Heenan. The Hart Foundation (Bret "Hitman" Hart & Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart) will face The Islanders (Haku & Tama). The Hart Foundation spoke about the match.

Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka pinned "Iron" Mike Sharpe.

"The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase (with Virgil) spoke about Hulk Hogan. The British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith & Dynamite Kid) will meet The Moondogs (Rex & Spot). Ken Resnick interviewed "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff, who spoke about WWF Intercontinental Champion, "Ravishing" Rick Rude, and Hercules.

"The Rebel" Dick Slater pinned Barry O.

In 'The Snake Pit', Jake "The Snake" Roberts addressed The Honky Tonk Man, and last week's attack, and said he will see The Honky Tonk Man at 'SummerSlam'.

In a 'King of The Ring' Quarter-Final Match, "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase (with Virgil) pinned Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka.

Footage was aired from earlier in the night, when "Macho Man" Randy Savage was arriving at the arena, and was attacked by King Kong Bundy.

Recap of The Magnificent Muraco & Mr. Fuji hanging Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, in the Philadelphia Spectrum, on May 30th.

In a 'King of The Ring' Quarter-Final Match, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat and The Magnificent Muraco were both eliminated from the tournament, when both were counted out. "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase advanced to the final after receiving a bye in the semi-finals. After the match, Muraco attacked Steamboat with a steel chair.
