Episode 173 - Wrestling Challnge - September 1st

 

 

Results from this week's 'Wrestling Challenge':

Gorilla Monsoon & Bobby "The Brain" Heenan were on commentary.

The Bolsheviks (Nikolai Volkoff & Boris Zhukov, with Slick) defeated George South & Rocky King, when Volkoff pinned South.

There was a recap of "Ravishing" Rick Rude's successful WWF Intercontinental Championship defense, against "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff, at 'SummerSlam'.

Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat pinned Jack Foley.

There was a recap of Jake "The Snake" Roberts defeating The Honky Tonk Man, and Demolition (Ax & Smash) successfully defending the WWF Tag Team Championship, against The British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith & Dynamite Kid), at 'SummerSlam'.

Greg "The Hammer" Valentine (with Jimmy Hart) defeated David Haskins, by submission, with the Figure Four Leg Lock.

There was a recap of Hulk Hogan successfully defending the WWF Championship, against "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase, at 'SummerSlam'.

Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka pinned The Gladiator.

In the 'Event Center', Sean Mooney detailed the upcoming Boston Garden show, on Saturday, September 12th. WWF Intercontinental Champion, "Ravishing" Rick Rude, will defend his Title, against "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff, in a Steel Cage Match. Orndorff spoke about the match. "Macho Man" Randy Savage will meet King Kong Bundy. Craig DeGeorge interviewed Savage. Jake "The Snake" Roberts will meet The Honky Tonk Man. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviewed Roberts. The WWF will return to Madison Square Garden, on Saturday, September 26th, with a main event of The Mega Powers (WWF Champion, Hulk Hogan & "Macho Man" Randy Savage) v "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase & Andre The Giant. DiBiase (with Andre & Virgil) spoke about the match.

There was an advert for the September issue of WWF Magazine.

The Hart Foundation (Bret "Hitman" Hart & Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart) defeated Jose Estrada & Jose Luis Rivera, when Neidhart pinned Estrada.

Vince McMahon & Jesse "The Body" Ventura were on commentary.

Jake "The Snake" Roberts pinned The Honky Tonk man (with Jimmy Hart). After the match, Roberts smashed HTM's own guitar over his head.

Powers of Pain (Warlord & Barbarian) defeated The New Dream Team (Greg "The Hammer" Valentine & Dino Bravo, with Jimmy Hart), when Warlord pinned Valentine.

 "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviewed "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase (with Virgil & Andre The Giant), who spoke about WWF Champion, Hulk Hogan.

"The Natural" Butch Reed (with Slick) pinned Junkyard Dog.

Strike Force (Tito Santana & Rick Martel) defeated "King" Harley Race & Hercules (with Bobby "The Brain" Heenan), when Santana pinned Hercules.

"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan and One Man Gang (with Slick) fought to a double count-out.

WWF Intercontinental Champion, "Ravishing" Rick Rude (with Bobby "The Brain" Heenan) retained his Title, by pinning "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff. Orndorff looked to have Rude pinned, before Heenan interfered. As Orndorff was retaliating against Heenan, Rude took advantage with the Rude Awakening, for the pin.

WWF Tag Team Champions, Demolition (Ax & Smash, with Mr. Fuji), retained their Titles, by beating The British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith & Dynamite Kid), when Ax pinned Smith.

WWF Champion, Hulk Hogan (with "Macho Man" Randy Savage & Miss Elizabeth), retained his Title, by pinning "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase (with Andre The Giant & Virgil). During the match, Andre The Giant, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, and Virgil were ejected from ringside for interfering in the match.
