Episode 51 - Superstars - September 18th

 

On 'Superstars' this week:

Slick (with "The Natural" Butch Reed & One Man Gang) spoke about Reed's WWF debut tonight.

Bret "Hitman" Hart defeated Matt Borne, via submission with The Sharpshooter.

There was a recap of "The Rock" Don Muraco's attack on Ken Patera, in Madison Square Garden. Muraco spoke about his reasons and contempt for Patera.

Tito Santana pinned The Brooklyn Brawler.

There was a recap of last week's confrontation between Junkyard Dog and "Outlaw" Ron Bass, and JYD's challenge to Bass. Bass accepted the challenge.

Demolition (Ax & Smash, with Mr. Fuji) defeated George South & Italian Stallion, when Smash pinned Stallion.

Greg "The Hammer" Valentine (with Jimmy Hart) addressed The British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith & Dynamite Kid) defeating The Dream Team (Brutus Beefcake & Greg "The Hammer Valentine), for the WWF Tag Team Titles, in MSG. Valentine announced The Dream Team would be cashing in their rematch clause in The Spectrum in Philadelphia, on September 28th.

Brutus Beefcake (with Jimmy Hart) pinned Jim Powers.

The Shadows defeated Brian Costello & Jim Merkle, when Shadow #1 pinned Costello.

Ken Resnick interviewed the new WWF Tag Team Champions, The British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith & Dynamite Kid), about their Title victory.

Paul Roma pinned Black Bart.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviewed Demolition (Ax & Smash, with Mr. Fuji) who declared they have their sights set on the WWF Tag Team Championships.

Nikolai Volkoff (with Slick) defeated Italian Stallion by submission.

There was a recap of the confrontation between Junkyard Dog and "Outlaw" Ron Bass, on last week's 'Superstars'. JYD challenged Bass.

The Bushwhackers (Luke & Butch) defeated "Playboy" Buddy Rose & "Crippler" Rip Oliver, when Butch pinned Oliver.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviewed WWF Intercontinental Champion, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, who spoke about his upcoming Title defence against The Honky Tonk Man, at The Spectrum in Philadelphia.

"Superfly" Jimmy Snuka pinned "Iron" Mike Sharpe.

On tomorrow's 'Superstars', "The Rock" Don Muraco will address his attack on Ken Patera in Madison Square Garden.

 Hercules (with Bobby "The Brain" Heenan) defeated Sam Houston, when Houston submitted to Hercules's Full Nelson.

The U.S. Express (Barry Windham & Mike Rotunda) defeated The Wild Samoans (Afa & Sika), when Windham pinned Afa.
 
Ken Resnick interviewed WWF Tag Team Champions, The Dream Team (Brutus Beefcake & Greg "The Hammer" Valentine), about their Cage Match Title defence against The British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith & Dynamite Kid).

One Man Gang (with Slick) pinned "The Rebel" Dick Slater.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviewed The British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith & Dynamite Kid) about their Cage Match against WWF Team Team Champions, The Dream Team (Brutus Beefcake & Greg "The Hammer" Valentine).

Big John Studd & King Kong Bundy (with Bobby "The Brain" Heenan) defeated Ken Patera & "The Rock" Don Muraco, when Bundy pinned Patera. During the match, Muraco seemed reluctant to tag in, and after the match, Muraco attacked Patera.

"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan pinned The Iron Sheik (with Slick).

WWF Champion, Hulk Hogan, spoke about his Title defence against "King" Harley Race.

In a Six-Man Tag Team Match, "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka & The Can-Am Connection (Rick Martel & Tom Zenk), and Piper's Pit ("Rowdy" Roddy Piper, "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff & "Cowboy" Bob Orton), fought to a double disqualification, when the referee called the match off after it got out of control.

"King" Harley Race spoke about his match with WWF Champion, Hulk Hogan.

In a Cage Match, The British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith & Dynamite Kid) escaped the cage first, to defeat WWF Tag Team Champions, The Dream Team (Brutus Beefcake & Greg "The Hammer" Valentine), and become the new WWF Tag Team Champions.

WWF Champion, Hulk Hogan, pinned "King" Harley Race (with Bobby "The Brain" Heenan), to retain his Title.

Ken Resnick interviewed Big John Studd & King Kong Bundy about their match against Ken Patera & "The Rock" Don Muraco. Ken Resnick also interviewed The Iron Sheik & Slick. Slick (with One Man Gang) spoke about OMG's match against "The Rebel" Dick Slater, and introduced his newest charge, "The Natural" Butch Reed. Reed will make his in-ring debut on next week's 'Superstars'. Sam Houston spoke about his match against Hercules.

The Honky Tonk Man (with Jimmy Hart) pinned Dusty Wolfe. Afterwards, HTM vowed to regain the WWF Intercontinental Title.

 In 'Piper's Pit', "Rowdy" Roddy Piper was joined by "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff and "Cowboy" Bob Orton. They spoke about their upcoming six-man tag team match in MSG against "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka & The Can-Am Connection (Rick Martel & Tom Zenk).

"Outlaw" Ron Bass pinned Barry Horowitz.

There was an advert for the September issue of WWF Magazine.

As Junkyard Dog made his way to the ring for his match against Rusty Brooks, he was confronted by an exiting "Outlaw" Ron Bass. Following an exchange of words, Bass attacked JYD, wrapping his whip around JYD's neck and dragging him.

 "The Rebel" Dick Slater pinned Dick Murdoch.

 WWF Champion, Hulk Hogan, spoke about his Title defence against "King" Harley Race in MSG.
